Well our 2nd day in NYC and we took a 3 hr cruise around the entire island.

This was a pleasant experience and was more interesting than we thought it would be.

Highlights were passing by Ground Zero, seeing the Statue of Liberty, passing under many famous bridges like: Brooklyn, 59th St., the Geo Washington, and 2 or 3 others that I can’t recall at the moment.

We got some nice views of Empire State, Chrysler, Bellvue Hospital, NY Hospital and Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

After our cruise ended we thought we’d leave early for home but it would cost us 52 bucks more to do so, so we passed.

When our train came up, suddenly all the trains went on delay because of power issues between Penn station and all of NJ.

Ours was the only train listed on a board of 20 which was on “Stand by”. By the time our train was to leave it too, went on delayed.

Thankfully only one train came up as boarding and that was our train, only about 25 minutes later than our scheduled departure.

I write this now, about 30 minutes after boarding, and we still haven’t actually left the station yet, though they did announce that they were waiting for approval to leave.

In the last 5 minutes we saw two trains leave so we should be moving soon. Fingers crossed.

Overall a great trip to the heat and heart of NY.
